I Came to LASU for a Degree, But I Found So Much More

Before entering LASU, all I wanted was a degree. That was the goal. Just study hard, graduate, and move on. I didn’t think much about growth, impact, or even purpose. I just wanted to get it done.
But something changed after I got in.
Being surrounded by passionate, driven students opened my eyes. I saw people building brands, hosting events, joining press clubs, learning digital skills, and doing so much more than just chasing grades. And slowly, I started asking myself, “What else is possible for me?”
That simple question shifted everything.
Today, I’m not just in LASU for a degree, I’m here to grow, to lead, and to leave a mark. As the Vice President of the LASU Champion Press Club, I’ve discovered a love for storytelling and helping others find their voices too. I’ve spoken at events, volunteered, and even explored digital paths I never imagined before.
My mindset changed. And with that, my goal did too.
So if you’re reading this and you feel like you’re just “trying to graduate”, I get it. But don’t be afraid to explore more. LASU has opportunities hidden in every corner. Your journey can be more than just academic. It can be transformational.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just stay open and start.
