Lasu Staff Celebrate Culture and Tradition

The Lasu culture and tradition day for staff took place on Thursday 13th of August 2026 as one of the activities lined up for the 29th and 30th combined Convocation ceremony of the Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos.
The programme started officially with the national anthem and school anthem.
Recognition of the university management staff and Deans of faculties followed.

The VC stated that ” These attires remind us that our strength lies in our unity. The success we celebrate during this convocation day is the product of our efforts. These are people whose contributions to our university have been outstanding.” She ended by praying for the staff, and the celebration.

– Awarding of best dressed male and female staff : The Vice Chancellor awarded 10 best dressed staff members #100,000 each.
– Ondo performed oriki for the vice Chancellor followed by a dance performance.
– Epe division dance performance

– Egba Staff Forum
– Ijebu performance
– Chant performance by Akewi
– Prof. Afinsi Taiwo announced the winners of the cultural groups that displayed with
Ondo state as 2nd runner up
LASU Awori forum as 1st runner up and
Ogu forum as the overall winner
Presentation of certificates to the winners.
– Prof. Oluwatoyin Ayokunle presented Gold awards to distinguished personalities for their services.
