LASU Community in Coconut Breaking Festivity
“In keeping with the festival’s tradition, the LASU Alumni Association, headed by Mr. Norisson Quakers and his team, broke coconuts and prayed for the prosperity and peace of the University. They were joined by members of the Ceremonies Committee, members of the Students’ Union, and staff members of Lagos State University”
The coconut breaking festival was a celebration of culture, unity and progress among the alumni body and the entire Lagos State University community. Energizing performances by the Angeres, together with dance and the rhythmic beats of drums, made the day one to remember.
Following the welcome address by the President of the LASU Alumni Association, Mr. Norisson Quakers, who was represented by Alhaji Ajetunmobi, National Treasurer, LASU Alumni Association, he said, “We remain committed to supporting the university’s values. The alumni community welcomes you as accomplished members of society spread across various sectors.” He commended the graduating students and welcomed them into the alumni body.

An address was also given by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, MNI, NPOM, FNLI, FPSP. She expressed gratitude to God, LASU’s partners and all other stakeholders who have contributed to the success of Lagos State University.
The Vice Chancellor then proceeded with breaking the coconut and offered prayers.

In keeping with the festival’s tradition, the LASU Alumni Association, headed by Mr. Norisson Quakers and his team, broke coconuts and prayed for the prosperity and peace of the University. They were joined by members of the Ceremonies Committee, members of the Students’ Union, and staff members of Lagos State University.
The occasion ended with the cutting of cake, prayers and group photographs.
